Some pool owners just don’t have a choice. The environment (the leaves and other debris) dictate that a pool cover is a necessity. In the Jackson, MS area, pool owners have found two types of pool covers have success.

The Tarp Style

The Lock-Down Safety Cover

The Tarp-Style cover is the least expensive type of pool cover. Tarp-style covers are made for both in-ground and above-ground pools. They definitely require some wintertime maintenance in order to have success. But if that maintenance is cared for, this type of cover can significantly reduce spring time cleanup. A Tarp-Style cover’s life span is between 1-4 years.

Buying Tips:

• Get a cover that is at least 5’ longer and 5’ wider than the longest and widest parts of your pool.
• Find out the warranty of the cover. The warranty is an indication of the cover’s life span. No cover lasts as long as its warranty. However, the longer the cover warranty, the better the material is from which the cover is made.
